Upon arrival, the welcome was warm, and we were quickly settled into our comfortable rooms, which featured a flat-screen TV and thoughtful touches like an electric kettle. The hotel boasts a lovely bar/lounge area, perfect for unwinding after a day out exploring Kirkcudbright. We opted for dinner at the on-site restaurant both evenings, where the food was commendable and offered a varied menu. Special mention goes to the vegetarian haggis—definitely worth trying. The attentive staff throughout our stay enhanced the experience. They helped with their recommendations and were always available to assist. Free off-road parking is an added perk, ensuring convenience during busy periods. The Selkirk Arms strikes a commendable balance of affordability and luxury without being too extravagant.
